Halloween 2010

It's been awhile but to prove we're still breathing and to satisfy my mom (I love you!) here are some pictures of us for Halloween. I'm proud to say that I made all the kids costumes and that I fixed up or added to already made stuff to make mine and Casey's. I'll try and add a family picture sometime but all I have for now are individual shots, so here goes.

Luke was Wolverine.

Sadie was Midna (from the Zelda Twilight Princess Wii game).

Katie Belle was a blue fairy.

Maia was Thumbelina (from the Barbie version).

Casey and I were from the 20's a gangster and a flapper. I put in this picture of me so you could see the lovely fur I got for $1 at the thrift store! It was perfect! And it has pockets, how fun is that? =)

School Pictures 2010

Okay, I'm a push over for pictures. This is no surprise to my family who all have this weakness but others may not know that I have been taught as a child the importance of photographing every possible moment of my life. My good father took care of that while I was too little to do it myself (and ever since), but I took over some responsibility as soon as I was given my first camera. I love pictures.

So, when it's school picture time, I fret over how many I can afford, what's reasonable (to Casey), and what I feel I truly NEED. It's a hard line to walk, folks, especially when you have no idea how they'll turn out. Luke may be having one of those weird days when he feels he's too cool for pictures, Katie Belle might have destroyed any evidence that I did her hair AT ALL, and, okay, I don't worry about Sadie. She worries enough for the both of us on picture day. =)

I took the risk anyway. I can't help myself. But I'm always so happy I did!

Easter with Family

Spring break was good to us and allowed us to spend Easter with family this year. We spent the weekend with grandma and grandpa and the kids had a great time! The weather was crazy, though, and we woke up to a good layer of snow Saturday morning. Some Easter egg hunts got cancelled and it was really cold so eventhough a few ventured out and found eggs, we decided to have a family easter egg hunt when it warmed up a little. The kids loved it! We couldn't believe how you could hide eggs out in the middle of the grass and they seemed to disappear!

The next day as we were leaving the kids, Casey and grandpa got into a snowball fight. Luke got one to the face and although pretended to be upset, he LOVED every second of it! Brian and grandpa taunted him as we drove off. Ahhh...it's good to be with family.

Happy 7th Birthday Sadie!

Sadie is now 7 and working hard to grow up as fast as possible. It's kind of scary and cool all at the same time. You all understand that, right? She has always been a sweetheart and I love to watch her be a little mommy to everyone around here. Getting them drinks or snacks, putting blankets on someone who's sleeping or just chewing them out to keep them in line...CUTE! We appreciate all she does to keep our home happy. She got this plasma car for her birthday and once it was put together, EVERYONE took a turn riding it. (Yes, even me.) But pretty soon craziness ensued and this was the scene in our dining room! They are all pushing dad. Fun! And although I know dad had a good time (do you see that look?), I'm pretty sure Sadie had a good birthday, too!
Besides, she got a turn, too! =) Happy Birthday, Sadie!

Good Grief

I can't believe that I still have Christmas on the blog. Of course, it was almost February before Christmas left our house so I shouldn't be too surprised. The good news is...we're alive! Things are just so crazy busy that I just don't get to this as often as I'd like. So, today, a little catch-up. First of all, many of you have seen this in person which is toooo funny! But for those of you who haven't (and for the cousins who like to watch it over and over) I just HAD to post Katie Belle dancing her "A-toodee-ta" dance. I'm figuring out some way to use this for girls camp!

Sadie entered a contest at her grandpa's work and won! So they sent her a copy of her drawing with a picture of it posted at the plant and a gift card to Walmart. She was so proud of herself! What I thought was even cuter was that I had her write a thank you note and she addressed the envelope to "My grandpas work". They even posted the envelope with her drawing! =)

Katie had her baby and then she and the family came to visit, much to the joy and excitement of my girls! They loved holding their new cousin, Adelaide! Isn't she cute?!

My grandpa has not been doing very well lately. So, I took the girls to go see their great-grandpa again. Maia didn't want to be in the picture but she had her kitty costume on and great-grandpa thought that was pretty funny. You know, it's hard to see him so sick but it's also good for me because for as much as I'll miss him when he's gone, I'll also know he'll be so much better off. I love you, grandpa!!!Luke had a project to do at school and decided to do it on Greek Mythology. He researched some of the gods and then made a Powerpoint presentation for his class. I was really impressed! I have to admit, though, I was giggling when someone asked why they couldn't just shoot the Hydra to kill it. (For those trying to remember what the Hydra was...think Hercules, the monster that when he cut off a head, three more grew.) And Luke, acting soooo smart, told them that they didn't have guns back then but that if they did shoot the Hydra, it's poison blood would just get everywhere. Which no one wants, right? He then gave his personal opinion on how he'd go about killing it. I know, now you're all curious as to how he'd do it. Well, obviously, he'd use Medusas head and turn it to stone. It's the only logical choice. =)

Whew! So there you go! I know it's a little random but so is my life right now. At least we're caught up and it's not Christmas on my blog anymore...HURRAY!
